School Board Election & Candidate Eligibility Requirements:
There is one (1) Board seat available for a three-year term commencing July 1, 2024, and expiring on June 30, 2027, to succeed member Cynthia Tait whose term expires on June 30, 2024. A school board candidate must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a qualified voter in the school district, and able to read and write. You must be and have been a resident of the district for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one (1) year immediately before the election. At the time you take office, you cannot be employed by the board on which you serve or live in the same household with a family member who is also a member of the same school board. Petitions: Below you will find the petition, to be returned to the District Clerk by 3:00PM on Monday, April 22, 2024. Eastchester/Tuckahoe Second Half School Taxes due: The Tax Office will be offering extended office hours for payment of second half 2023/2024 Eastchester and Tuckahoe School Taxes on Wednesday, January 31st, 8:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. Second half school taxes are due by January 31, 2024 without penalty. Registration is now open to accept players for the spring–where there are openings. The discounted fee is $175. Open only to residents of Eastchester, including the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe. The youngest group is born 2018. No further action is necessary other than confirming with the coach that one is returning for Spring. https://eysoccer.com/ ![]() The ramp from the Hutchinson River Parkway southbound to Exit 9A at Mill Road in New Rochelle is closed for a month starting Monday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. The New York State Department of Transportation said in a news release that the ramp will be closed until Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. to install a water main. The Department of Transportation said drivers should use the posted detour and drive slow in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone and two or more violations can result in a license suspension. Town of Eastchester Alert: The Eastchester Superintendent of Highways has declared a snow emergency and hereby orders that street parking is suspended from 8pm on Saturday January 6th until noon on Sunday January 7th unless your street or home is exempt. 1/29/24 UPDATE: Healthy Kids Programs has been selected as the new Universal Pre-K provider for our school, and they will operate the program right here at Cottle Elementary School. ![]() Tuckahoe Union Free School District is pleased to provide an opportunity for Tuckahoe families to enter a lottery for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program (UPK). We are currently finalizing our partnership arrangements for this program. Rest assured, we will share detailed information about our community partner shortly. Our commitment is to provide a high-quality, enriching program for your children. The program will run five days per week from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and will follow the school district calendar. Eligible children must be four years old by December 1, 2024. Transportation is not provided.
The lottery for the 36 seats will take place both in-person and virtually on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 3:30 PM in the Tuckahoe MS/HS Library (snow date is February 9, 2024). The lottery selection will be live-streamed, and the link will be available on the District website homepage: www.Tuckahoeschools.orgOpens in a new browser tab. If a family declines the offer or does not register their child, the next student on the waiting list will be offered a place in the program. We are excited to offer this UPK program for the 2024-2025 school year and look forward to working with our community partner to offer this valuable opportunity to eligible Tuckahoe families!
