Questions for Town Hall
Cuomo said that as of April 19, bars and restaurants may stay open until midnight, up from 11 p.m., while the curfew for catered events in New York was pushed from midnight until 1 a.m.
Beginning on Saturday, May 1, both indoor and outdoor ceremonies will be permitted with limited capacity permitted, depending on the size and location of the event.
For events that exceed the social gathering limits of 100 people indoors or 200 people outdoors, event organizers and venues must notify the local health department and require attendees to show proof of a recent negative test result or proof of completed immunization prior to entry
For outdoor events, venues will be limited to:
- Large events (500+): 20 percent capacity, applicable to venues with a total capacity of 2,500 or more;
- Medium-scale events (201-500 people): 33 percent capacity;
- Small-scale events (up to 100 people or two attendees per student): 50 percent capacity.
- Large-scale ceremonies of more than 100 people: 10 percent, applicable to venues with a total capacity of 1,500 or more;
- Medium-scale ceremonies (101-150 people): 33 percent capacity;
- Small-scale ceremonies (up to 100 people or two attendees per student): 50 percent.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that beginning on Friday, April 23, residents 60 years and older can enter any of the state’s 16 mass vaccination sites and receive a vaccine without having to schedule an appointment.
Mass vaccination sites are currently located in:
- SUNY Old Westbury;
- Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn;
- National Guard Armory in Yonkers;
- Aqueduct Race Track in South Ozone Park;
- Suffolk Community College in Brentwood;
- York College in Queens;
- Yankee Stadium;
- Javits Center in Manhattan;
- SUNY Binghamton;
- Delavan Grider Community Center in Buffalo;
- Kodak-Hawkeye Parking Lot in Rochester;
- Rochester Dome Arena;
- SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica;
- NYS Fair in Syracuse;
- Crossgates Mall in Albany;
- Washington Avenue Armory in Albany.
For those still searching out a COVID-19 vaccine, Westchester County health officials are offering immediate appointments to anyone age 18 and older.
Appointments are available from Friday, April 23 through Tuesday, April 27 at Westchester Community College in Valhalla.
During the vaccine event, health officials will be giving the Moderna vaccine to anyone 18 years of age or older. To receive the vaccine you must be able to return to the college in 28 days for a second dose.
You will need to sign up for the clinic on the state's website, but appointments are immediately available. If you need assistance registering, please call 914-995-7425.
The appointment run from:
- Friday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, April 26 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If there is enough interest in holding a multi-family tag sale, the CHCA will host one.
As in previous years, it will be held across from the CH park.
The tentative date is Saturday May 1 between 9am - 3pm

The pantry at HOPE has desperately empty shelves. Kyle Burbage a St Joseph School Alumna and Fordham Prep student has stepped up to collect the most needed items for the HOPE pantry.
The most needed items are:
- Cereal
- Tuna
- Pasta
- Canned Veggies
- Peanut butter

for the 10th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep, a day of service for the Hudson River and its tributaries.

*IMPORTANT! To ensure the safety of volunteers, Sweep Site Leaders, park staff, and our communities, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines:
Volunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep, and bring their own masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and water.
All participants and Sweep Leaders must wear masks that fully cover both their nose and mouth, at all times, no exceptions.
All volunteers must maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet and wear masks at all times. When announcements are being made, a distance of 15 feet should be maintained.
Volunteers should carpool only with members of their own household.
Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness or if they have potentially been exposed to COVID-19 within the previous two weeks.

The Board Candidate Petition process is complete for the one (1) open seat for the Board of Education.
Cynthia Tait was the only person to submit a nominating petition, and, therefore, is the only person nominated for the open seat. This will be reflected on the May 18th official ballot.
