Unscooped Poop and Excessive Dog Barking is Bringing our Neighborhood Down
UPDATE 9/28: SURVEY RESULTS: Other Suggested Ideas:
Excessive Dog BarkingThere have been complaints about dogs barking excessively. One complaint is about dogs that are barking all day long from inside the home and it is so loud that it can be heard from down the block. Nearby homes may have little children napping, elderly people, shift workers, etc who are entitled to quiet enjoyment of their home. Please be considerate and eliminate the dog's access to the windows or train your dog not to bark. Another complaint is dogs that are left outside barking at passerbys -- this is bothersome to neighbors, especially during early morning and late night hours. Please bring your pet inside if it begins to bark. 5 Reasons to Scoop that PoopOkay, okay, no one likes to scoop dog poop. Picking up after your dog can seem like a huge gross chore sometimes. But unfortunately it’s important and a fact of life for dog owners. Here are some facts and reminders that will hopefully keep you motivated next time you have to pick up your number one’s number two!

From the 9/13 CHCA General Meeting:
"Our nation is built on the strength of our citizens. Every day, we encounter situations calling upon us to be the eyes and ears of law enforcement. Not only does neighborhood watch allow citizens to help in the fight against crime, it is also an opportunity for communities to bond through service. The Neighborhood Watch Program draws upon the compassion of average citizens, asking them to lend their neighbors a hand. The National Neighborhood Watch Program (formerly USAonWatch) is the portal for training to assist law enforcement agencies and their communities, technical assistance, resource documents, watch stories, networking, and assistance to the field." www.nnw.org

After thoughtful consideration of the district's needs and in collaboration with the Board of Education, I established annual goals for the 2018-2019 school year in four different categories: Capital Project Planning, Needs Assessment & Strategic Planning, Safety & Security, and Teaching & Learning. I will present details on each specific goal at our September 17th Board of Education Meeting. Please know that as I start my 16th year working in our school system, I am grateful and honored to continue serving the students and families of the Tuckahoe community. I am sincerely looking forward to another exciting school year filled with rigorous learning and memorable events. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time should you have questions or concerns. Very truly yours, Carl L. Albano Superintendent, Tuckahoe Schools
