Some neighbors have recently complained about speeding on Lockwood Ave.
Over the years, neighbors have complained about people driving too fast on the longer streets (Archer, Central, Parkview & Lockwood) in our neighborhood. This is an ongoing problem and safety concern. The risk/reward is not worth it: getting home a minute earlier while risking a life is not worth it. Please slow down.

Both beaches will be open through Monday, which is Memorial Day. After the upcoming weekend, the beaches will be open weekends only through Sunday, June 26, when the full summer schedule begins. Because of ongoing capital projects, Croton point Beach will only be open weekends for the season, with the exceptions of Mondays on July 4 and Sept. 5. Effective Friday, June 24, the four county-owned pools will open for the summer season. Over the next two weeks, the Eastchester Police Dpeartment will be participating in the annual “Buckle Up New York, Click it or Ticket” campaign. This education and enforcement mobilization runs from May 23rd to June 3rd to promote seat belt use as the spring travel season ramps up. Our officers will be stepping up enforcement to make sure all motorists including their passengers and young children in car seats are properly restrained. Wearing your seatbelt is one of the smartest choices anyone can make while in the car. It’s simple seat belts save lives! Don’t be another statistic.

An alert has been issued by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) advising that a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway will be closed for days.
Over the weekend, the southbound lanes of the parkway will be closed between Exit 8 (Cross County Parkway) in the City of New Rochelle and Exit 6 (East Lincoln Ave) in the City of Mount Vernon/Village of Pelham. The closure is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, May 20, and last through 5 a.m. on Monday, May 23, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists have been advised to utilize the signed detours for the Cross County Parkway.
