Phase One:
| Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday night issued a New York-wide executive order that allows any gathering of 10 or less people, as long as social distancing guidelines are followed. The order allows "any non-essential gathering of ten or fewer individuals, for any lawful purpose or reason, provided that social distancing protocols and cleaning and disinfection protocols required by the Department of Health are adhered to." |

Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
We're excited to announce our 2020 Memorial Day show, airing on Sunday, May 24, 2020, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. E.T. Due to coronavirus, we will not host the show from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The show will air on PBS and the Armed Forces Network and will be livestreamed on Facebook, YouTube, and our website. Stay tuned for more announcements, including the talent who is working to honor our fallen soldiers this memorial day with content created for this year's show. |

Beaches will have to abide by several rules and regulations, he said, including remaining at no more than 50 percent capacity by controlling exits and entrances and limiting parking. Group contact activities remain banned, including sports and areas of gathering remain closed, such as picnic areas... playgrounds, arcades, pavilions, and amusement rides.
Cuomo said he made the decision because neighboring states planned to open beaches, and he feared New Yorkers would leave the state and flood overcrowded beaches.

Workers and beachgoers will be expected to maintain social distancing, which will be enforced, Cuomo said. Wearing a mask will be required when social distancing is not possible.
05/15 5 Regions of NY set to start reopening - Not Us Yet - Hudson Valley Pause Extended to May 28
5/14/2020
Five down, five to go. When the clock strikes midnight, five regions in New York will have the green light to “unpause” selected non-essential businesses. Central New York has joined the Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country and Southern Tier as regions that have met the seven metrics set forth by the state that will allow them to reopen. Of the five other regions, the Capital Region and mid-Hudson Valley have met five of seven metrics, while Long Island, New York City, and Western New York have met four. You can check an online dashboard to track how close New York's six other regions are to reopening here. According to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, provided nothing changes, the five regions can begin opening businesses for phase one as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, May 15, which includes construction; manufacturing and wholesale supply chain; retail for curbside pickup, and drop-off or in-store pickup; and agriculture, forestry, and fishing. source: Daily Voice | Businesses in each region will re-open in phases. Re-opening refers to non-essential businesses and business activities. Essential businesses and business activities that are open will remain open. The guidelines below apply to both non-essential businesses in regions that are permitted to re-open and essential businesses throughout the state that were previously permitted to remain open. Eligibility for reopening will be determined by health metrics for each region. Here is a breakdown of industries in each phase: Phase One: Eligibility for regional reopening determined on May 15th

Tuckahoe UFSD is working hard to plan meaningful year end moving up and commencement exercises for our students. One of the most impacted groups by our current situation is our graduating seniors, the Class of 2020. The district is in the midst of planning mini-activities and discussing how we are going to turn a very hard situation into the best possible solutions we can.
Our junior class has developed a very creative program that I’d like to bring to your attention.
ADOPT A SENIOR 2020!
The Junior Class would like to bring our community together and launch a fundraiser to celebrate our Seniors! Let's all shower our 2020 Seniors with some extra love. Adopt a senior....or 2....or 5. However many you'd like. Send them a letter, gift, gift card, snack, anything to warm their hearts (between $20 and $30) and cheer them up during this hard time. There are 85 seniors to “adopt,” and once all seniors are “adopted,” we have reached our goal! Let's spread some love to these Tuckahoe Tigers!
**Registration for adopting a senior will close on Sunday, May 24th**
How it works:
- Fill out the attached Google Form letting us know your information. FILL OUT FORM HERE!
- You will receive an email confirming your participation and a small background of a senior that you have been paired with. This background information will provide you with their interests and a few of their favorite things to help you decide on an appropriate gift.
- Put together their senior gift by June 9th. Gifts will be dropped off in the Tuckahoe High School Parking Lot between 3pm and 4pm on June 9th. If drop off is not possible for you, please indicate this on your Google Form and we will arrange a pick up time.
- Senior gifts will be distributed to the students on Friday, June 12th.
Sincerely,
Amy Goodman
Superintendent
DeCicco & Sons, with locations in Ardsley, Armonk, Brewster, Harrison, Larchmont, Millwood, Pelham and Somers, is now taking reservations online via the free OpenTable app. Yes, that's right. You can now make a reservation to shop for groceries. The new service, which could be the wave of the future in grocery stores, at least for the immediate future, started at the Pelham store May 7 and has expanded to all locations as of May 11. OpenTable, for those who've never used it, is a free online restaurant reservation service. According to DeCicco's Brittany Arocho, who, as the store's event planner is leading the charge on the new initiative, using OpenTable reduces the time customers have to spend with other shoppers and better enforces social distancing. It also saves the customer a lot of time and uncertainty. "Instead of coming to the store, potentially having to wait in line — and not knowing for how long — the customer shows up at their reservation time and is able to go directly into the store," she explained. "It makes shopping a lot more efficient." Shoppers can still go to all DeCicco & Sons stores without a reservation. source: Lohud |

We do not intend to fill the role while social distancing and the Governor's order prevents us from allowing for a true on-boarding.
