Drive-in Movies: Kensico, Playland, Lake Isle, Cross County Center and Bridge Bike Path Opening6/18/2020 ![]() The Kensico Dam will be turned into a drive-in movie theater at least twice this summer, Westchester County Executive George Latimer said on Tuesday. The "Secret Life of Pets" will be shown on July 17 and "Wonder Park" will be shown on Aug. 14. Both animated movies are kid-friendly and both dates are Friday nights. Tickets, which are $20 per car for "Secret Life of Pets" will go on sale at 2 p.m. June 17 online at wcparks.ticketleap.com/drivein. "Wonder Park" tickets will go on sale on July 20. The same idea is being discussed for the Playland parking lot, but the logistics haven't been worked out yet, Latimer said. Eastchester Town is working with Mulino's and Gigante's at Lake Isle to set up drive-in movie nights. Cross County Shopping Center Purchase tickets in advance for our NEW drive-in movie series, coming this July! Our Summer Fest Drive-in Movie Series is SOLD OUT. But, don't worry, more dates are coming soon.
Movies will begin at dusk (around 9pm) in the north parking lot (across from Olive Garde Cuomo Bridge bike-pedestrian path to open 2 p.m. Monday (3.6 miles)
The path, a bright-blue ribbon on the northern edge of the Rockland-bound span, has six scenic overlooks giving intrepid bridge walkers and riders commanding views of the Hudson, alongside four lanes of truck and car traffic heading north on the Thruway. Bikes can be parked at several spots on each landing, where food trucks are expected to set up shop. In Tarrytown, Sleek Ebikes will set up a bike-rental kiosk, owner Ed Busk said last week. Pathgoers are advised to dress for wind, rain, sun and changing temperatures. "All feel more intense out over the water," the signs suggest. They're also warned that bridges vibrate. "This is normal," the signs read. "There is a highway next to you after all." The signs also let them know there are restrooms at both ends of the bridge, but not on the path itself. And that the path is under video surveillance by State Police. The six scenic overlooks, called "belvederes," will have seating and WiFi. source: Lohud 06/23 Hudson Valley Enters Phase 3 Reopening - Indoor Dining, Nails, Tattoos, Gatherings up to 256/15/2020 The Hudson Valley is scheduled to reach Phase 3 on Tuesday, June 23.

Bicycle Sundays

Bicycle Sundays, which in past years draws about 60,000 participants annually, allows people to either bike, walk or jog on a 13.1 mile loop on the parkway from White Plains to Yonkers.
Latimer said there is no indication the event has led to the further spread of COVID-19. Since the first bicycling event May 3, there has been a steady drop in new COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths in Westchester, Latimer said.
The hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and it typically concludes for the year at the end of September.
4 County Pools to Open this Summer, Playland Pool to Remain Closed
![Picture](/uploads/7/1/9/4/71946681/published/summer-swimming-saxon2.jpg?1591408753)
The pool at Playland Park must stay closed because it is near a beachfront, Latimer said, which is following state requirements. The beach at Playland is open, though the amusement park remains closed because of state guidelines.
The pool facilities must only fill to 50 percent maximum occupancy, Latimer said. There will be two public pool sessions daily: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and then again 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. after an hour of disinfecting is performed, Latimer said.
"It will be first come, first serve entry," Latimer said.
Social distancing must continue and masks must be worn when a person can't stay six feet away from another. Masks are not required while in the pool, Latimer said.
Some features at the pools, including slides and aqua parks, will be off-limits, Latimer said. He added that concession stands and locker rooms will not be open, but restrooms will be available and constantly sanitized.

On June 26, those two county-owned beaches will follow their typical summer schedules. Croton Point Park beach will be open Thursday-Sunday and Playland beach will be open every day but Monday.

06/08 UPDATE:
The Governor has issued an Executive Order that extends the ballot receipt deadline to June 16th for the School Budget and Trustee Election.
This is only for ballots that are mailed.
The deadline for dropping off ballots at the District Drop Box is still June 9th at 5pm.
If you haven't mailed your ballot, there is time to DROP IT OFF by June 9:
Can I drop off my ballot in person?
Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, ballots will not be accepted in person. However, for voters wishing to drop off their ballots instead of returning them by mail, a securely locked drop box is set up inside Cottle Elementary School for those who wish to drop off their ballots. This drop box is available from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, and, on Tuesday June 9, from 8:00am to 5:00 pm. Completed ballots must be received by the District by mail or in the drop box by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 to be canvassed.
