The Work of Richard Haas Dreams & Reality: Visions of Urban Architecture by Richard Haas Curated by Charles T. Little, Curator Emeritus of The Cloisters and Medieval Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Exhibition runs February 2 – March 4 GALLERY HOURS | Tues, Weds & Fridays 12-5 PM | Thursdays 12-7 PM | Saturdays & Sundays 2-5 PM SPECIAL GALLERY HOURS | February 3, 15 & 17 2-5 PM | March 4 12-2 PM Richard Haas is an American muralist who focuses on architecture. He is best known for his beloved trompe l’oeil murals on the exterior of buildings throughout the world (and locally in downtown Yonkers). However, over the years, many of his pieces have been destroyed either by the elements or building developers. There are blessings, and curses that come with urban reform and this exhibition will examine that. Focusing on murals and buildings that have been destroyed this exhibition will showcase a variety of architectural drawings, marquets, paintings, and prints. |
