NY Reduces Length Of Quarantine Period
State officials announced this week that New York would be following in the footsteps of the CDC, which reduced required COVID-19 quarantines from 14 to 10 days.
Despite how long the quarantine is, officials said that they should still monitor their symptoms for at least the original 14 days.
According to the CDC, ending a quarantine after 10 days without a negative test leads to an approximately 1 percent risk of spreading the virus to others.

$600 Stimulus Check Status
Paper checks will begin to be mailed on Wednesday.
Most people who make under a certain amount will receive a one-time, non-taxable payment of $600. Full payments will go to people who meet the following thresholds for adjusted gross income based on 2019 tax returns: $75,000 for single filers, $112,500 for heads of household, and $150,000 for those married filing jointly. After those thresholds, the payments decrease, and won't be available for single-filers who earned more than $99,000. Adults also get $600 for each child they claim as a dependent.
Later this week, you will be able to check the status of your payment at IRS.gov/GetMyPayment.

The decision means vaccinations will begin in a matter of days in individuals 16 years of age or older.
The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was developed at breakneck speed, and the Trump administration agreed over the summer to an initial $1.95 billion purchase of 100 million doses, before knowing whether it would be safe and effective. In clinical trials, it proved to be both.
The same committee is scheduled to meet on Dec. 17 to review data on a vaccine developed by Moderna.
Operation Warp Speed, the U.S. effort to fast-track development of Covid-19 vaccines, currently estimates it will have enough vaccine for 20 million people by the end of December between the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
Cuomo also said that health officials are evaluating indoor dining outside New York City and in COVID-19 orange zone “micro-clusters” and will do so over the weekend before making a determination on Monday.
Moving forward, gyms and salons will remain open, though the state is increasing testing and regulations. Gyms and salons can now operate up to 25 percent capacity, down from 33 percent, and testing will go from bi-weekly to weekly.
NEW: Following updated guidance from the CDC, if a region's hospitalization rate does not stabilize by December 12, additional restrictions will be applied to indoor dining. If the hospitalization rate does not stabilize in New York City by December 12, indoor dining will be suspended; if the rate does not stabilize in regions outside New York City, capacity restrictions will be reduced to 25 percent.

We will post updates here.
The town’s Building Inspector met with a CVS representative at the site yesterday. They didn’t do any work within the building that requires a building permit. However, Jim did request that they take certain safety precautions.
He also mentioned the concern about long queues of people waiting to be tested. Although there will be some space available within the building, CVS did agree to set up a waiting area in the parking lot if necessary. The town also requested that they ensure the waiting area is blocked off to avoid conflicts with vehicles.
They plan to operate from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. seven days per week – initially for testing, and later potentially to administer vaccines.
More such facilities are starting to open up in town, so having more facilities is expected to disperse the usage minimizing long lines at any one location. They do plan to monitor the site, but we should too.
- All tests must be scheduled. Every individual who wants a test must make an appointment at MinuteClinic.com.
- CVS has over 4300 testing locations
- Covered patients should not have any out-of-pocket costs, but you should check with your health plan to confirm before scheduling a test.
- CVS Health has entered into a contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to be one of the official COVID-19 Vaccination Program Providers.
- No patient will be charged for the vaccine or for its administration.
