9-8-8 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
When people call, text or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to the necessary resources. If you or someone you know needs help now: dial 9-8-8, or chat 988lifeline.org. There is always hope. FROM EPD:
We would like to make residents aware that there have been several soliciting permits issued recently, and they may expect random solicitations at their home. We would also like to remind our residents that the Town has a do not knock registry, a copy of which is given to permitted solicitors. Once established on the registry solicitors are not permitted to solicit at your residence. For more information please visit https://www.eastchester.org/how_do_i/sign_up_for_do_not_knock_registry Starting July 15th the Leewood Tunnel will be closed as the Westchester County Department of Public Works will be working on the bridge/tunnel.
