![]() Asbury United Methodist church is honored to present trumpet player Bill Owens and organist Craig Williams in recital under the auspices of its professional concert series, Music at Asbury. Asbury Church’s historic Austin organ will be featured in this program of virtuoso works from the Renaissance to today performed by the associate principal trumpet player of the West Point Concert Band and the organist and choirmaster of the West Point Chapel. Concerts are held in the sanctuary at Asbury United Methodist Church; ample parking is available. Music at Asbury was launched in November of 2014. As a program under the auspices of Asbury-Crestwood United Methodist Church, Music at Asbury is designed to serve as a social service to the community, offering free admission to the general public for all of its concerts. Additional concerts in the season are scheduled for April 2, and May 7. In addition to his position with the West Point Band, Bill Owens is also a member of the West Point Brass Quintet and the mixed ensemble, Quintette 7. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Bill has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Diego Symphony, the Santa Barbara Symphony and was a member of the national touring ensemble, Presidio Brass. He is the artistic director of the Purchase Symphonic Winds and a faculty member at SUNY Purchase. Craig S. Williams is recognized as one of our country’s preeminent concert organists. He holds degrees from The Juilliard School and the University of Southern California. received a Master of Music degree in piano performance from The Juilliard School and his Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern California.
