![]() Hello All, Mickey Spillanes will hold an official opening of their beautiful Upstairs (2nd floor) space on Thursday June 15 from 6-8pm. The event will feature Supervisor Colavitawho will speak at the dedication for a plaque which will be installed in honor of Jack Vecciarelli. For those who don't know, Jack Vecchiarelli was the first owner of Mickey Spillane's (which was founded as the Oakridge Grill in 1939). He attended University of Michigan on a full athletic scholarship for football, became a Golden Gloves champion, professional boxer and served honorably in WW2, among other achievements, some of which are detailed in the article below. Please join the crowd for food, drinks and fun! Some Historical Society Board members will be on hand to sell any remaining raffle tickets for our drawing for 2 Season 2017-2018 Giants tickets (field level). Giants tickets have been generously donated by the Benedict Family of Westchester Funeral Home. Only 100 raffle tickets will be sold at $100 each-tickets are going fast!!
